Minneapolis's Nájera Gets 2500th Hit
It was a great day for <Israel Nájera:player#3989> of the <Minneapolis Vikings:team#75> -- but not a perfect day. He became the latest player to reach the 2500-hit mark, but his team lost the game. The 35-year-old shortstop got his hit in Minneapolis's 10-6 loss to San Francisco.

"It was a very special game for me, but not a good one for the team," said Nájera after the game. Commenting on his achievement to reporters, he told them, "2500 hits are a lot. It puts you in a very select group. You have to hit well over a lot of seasons to do this. It's a good feeling to have your name in the record books with the other guys who have reached this level."

He finished the day with 3 hits in 5 at-bats.

<Nájera:player#3989> has a career .341 average with 2500 hits, 465 doubles, 60 triples, 278 home runs, 1204 RBIs, and 1376 runs scored to date.
